Happy Valentines Day! Hope your day has been candy filled and happy. Here is a snippet of conversation Natalie and I had about this holiday.

Me: Natalie, do you know what we are celebrating on Valentines Day?
Natalie (emphatically): Candy!
Me: Hmm. . . well, that's not exactly it. What did you just learn about candy?
(Ironically, they studied about teeth last week at school.)
Natalie: Candy gives us cavities.
Me: That's right.
Natalie: Unless it's Barbie candy. And that is very healthy and makes our teeth get strong.
Me: No. Barbie candy is like all the rest of the candy. It will give you cavities too.
Natalie: Well, ice cream doesn't give us cavities. And not chocolate chips either. They are very very good for us.
Me: Well, I can't argue with that.

I don't really have any strong feelings about raindrops on roses or whiskers on kittens, but in honor of Valentines Day, here are a few of my favorite things:
Korres bath gel, French fries, Peppermint Mocha, Dunkin Donuts coffee, chicken salad, Wicked, Shakespeare in Love, Pride and Prejudice, the Art Institute, Tea at The Drake Hotel, Burts Bees Lip Balm, my cashmere scarf, going to the french market on saturday mornings with natalie, family pancakes, any meal that i don't have to clean up after, quality time with my girlfriends, going on dates with my husband, as much time as i want to read, a good laugh at work, a surprisingly short commute.

We had a fun Valentine's Day...Jan spent the day with us and she and I worked on scrapbooking all day! Your Dad showered me with a dozen red roses, two boxes of candy and cards. He is so good to me!

Loved your chat with Miss Natalie about candy...my feelings exactly.

Love, Gigi
